I was in downtown Chicago yesterday afternoon. It was hot; for the beginning of Fall, our temperatures certainly do not reflect what is on the calendar. Yesterday’s high temperature was 94F (34C). I suppose with all the skyscrapers and people mulling about (almost creating an even greater incubator of heat) it felt even hotter. Suffice it to say, I wasn’t in the best of moods; perhaps the word, “cranky” describes it better.
At my greatest ‘moment of crankiness’ yesterday, for some reason I looked up, just in time to see an airplane soaring across the sky. I snapped a photo not knowing whether or not it would turn out at all.
When I took a look at the photo my crabby mood lifted significantly. I love how the blue sky and the glass in the skyscrapers seem to highlight the plane’s path. It might sound silly, but this actually ‘lightened’…
